The Netherlands Institute of Tourism and Transport Studies in Breda: Organisational Structure, Curricula and Teaching Methods The article describes the teaching systems of the Netherlands Institute of Tourism and Transport Studies (NHTV) in Breda. Organisational structure along with the tasks of various departaments and indenpendent organisations within the NHTV are presented in the first part. Detailed curricula four managerial specialisations, National Travel Guides studies, professional studies and tourism teachers: studies within the Department of Tourism and Recreation Studies in the NHTV are presented in the second part. The third part of the article presents teaching methods typical for the NHTV, aimed at the development of specific professional skills among the students. The need for continous co-ordination of the teaching system with the changing needs of the travel trade is underlined.
