The Role and Importance of Scenery for Tourism and Recreation One can talk about scenery as a system of values considering also its importance and role in recreation. In this respect the importance of scenery can be reduced to the evaluation of its role in creating the function of recreational space, and its inner structure and role in satisfying recreational needs of man. The author thinks that both creation and the way of availing of recreational space are determined by the kind of scenery, while satisfying the recreational needs is possible in any kind of scenery. It depends not only on the scenery physiognomy but also on the man's state of mind at a given time, his likings, expectations, preferences and specific needs.
