Biopsychical Needs of the Human Being in Regard to the Natural Environment

Environmental threats in the present world cause a number of changes in human's internal environment. Unprofitable changes in our surroundings are the reason of lost balance between what is necessary for our organism and what the environment can supply us with. In such a situation we face so called deprivation of our needs". If this situation lasts for a long time it can give rise to numerous diseases and — as a consequence — increase the death rate. That is why mortality in Poland is higher than in western countries. In this paper the needs which are necessary to keep up one's psycho-physical health have been discussed. Among others, the needs are as follows: the need of recreation, being in different surroundings, health, breathing, light, motion, amusing, keeping touch with natural environment, intimacy, silence and peace, emotional contacts, cognition and self-accomplishment.
