Some Personality Features of the Candidates Admitted to Tourism and Recreation Faculties, the Academy of Physical Education, Cracow

This article informs of the investigations of the chosen personality features of the persons beginning their studies at the faculties of Tourism and Recreation, the Academy of Physical Education, Cracow. The authors have assumed that, from the point of view of the future professional activity demands, the optimum personality features of both faculty graduates should be; high intellectual level, considerable intensification of extroversion and the low level of neurotism and aggression, manifested particularly in the sphere of social behaviours. In result of the studies it has been ascertained that the levels of intelligence and extroversion presented by the students are within the limits marked by the model assumptions. Yet the comparatively intensification of aggression (mainly some of its forms, especially the ones of social character) may be distressing. These features can be modified (weakened) in the course of studies thanks to the proper didactic educational process.
