Nowy Targ Airport as the value of cultural heritage The author presents a detailed description of history and today of Nowy Targ Airport, a worth visiting place situated in a large valley between the Gorce and Tatra Mountains. Before the Second World War the airport, which was established in 1930 by the LOPP, as the only place in Poland specialized in sport and tourism, was the scenery of local and international meetings, sports competitions and other important for the members of local community events. In February 1962, when FIS competition took place, it was adapted for civil purposes as a supporting airport. From the author's viewpoint both – old buildings and picturesque surrounding – are the main reasons why this place should be carefully preserved for next generations.
