on the tourist arrivals from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus
The study examined the changes in number of border arrivals to Poland for the period 2002–2005, which are the consequences of visa's obligation for the Belorussian, Russian and Ukrainian citizens.
Factors that hugely influenced on the number and structure inbound traffic to Poland were:
- The accession of Poland to EU (1st May, 2003);
- Establishing visa's obligation for the Belorussian, Russian and Ukrainian citizens;
- Economical, social, geopolitical and culture changes in West and East Europe in the last ten years.
The analysis showed that despite the restrictions the number of tourist arrivals hasn't decreased. However the structure and purpose of visit has changed.
