Investigations of opinion of patients and tourists visiting polish health resorts in 2002 Health resorts are the localities that, thanks to remarkable natural and landscape values are predisposed to run therapeutic and tourist activity. Polish health resorts in spite of possessing high economic potential lapse nowadays into a state of deep recourse. As an effect is the high unemployment, not used therapeutic basis (about forty thousand beds) and tourist basis (about eighty thousand places). Therapeutics not always is the main form of activity in health resorts. Very often it plays a complementary role in relation to tourism or other branches of economy. In this context the appropriate direction to improve the situation is to widen the offer with tourist, recreation and sport services. Health resorts might become the places of ecological, recreation, sport and even congressional tourism (assuming suitable extension of infrastructure). Very useful in mentioned undertakings might be investigations of patients and tourists in polish health resorts in 2002, the result of which are presented in the paper, Purpose of the investigations was to recognise the general feeling about the quality of services, appreciation of infrastructure, identification of motives of arrivals and sources of information which had been used by tourists and patients before they came to particular health resort.
