The paper concerns developing skills and qualifications of employees, meeting customer needs and expectations, according to existing and planned organisational and technical environment. The author concentrates on different methods used for planning human resources, recruitment and selection, em- ployees' assessment, and improving staff qualification, such as: analysis of job effectiveness, Talent Plus - describing job profile, OPQ (Occupational Personality Questionnaire), work sample tests and NVQ - national vocational qualifications - among others.
