Psychology of Tourism in Poland. Its Current State and Prospects of Growth

In this article, an attempt has been made at reviewing the achievements of tourism psychology in Poland, defining its subject-matter and methodology as well as the prospects of development. According to the author, tourism psychology deals with the examining of psychological processes and phenomena preceding and accompanying man's tourism along with its effects. Its hitherto existing achievements may be broken down into the following four problem areas: reasons for engagement in tourism along with the psychological markers of participation in its various forms, psychological processes accompanying tourism activity, psychological results of tourism practice, psychological aspects concerning catering for the tourist movement.
