The Activity of the Rural Coopcratives in the Kraków Region in the Sphere of Workers' Social Tourism in the Years 1984-1988 The work discusses selected problems connected with organizing social tourism in the rural cooperatives of the Kraków Region. Considering the range of the actual activity the greatest attention was paid to social tourism functioning in village cooperatives "Samopomoc Chłopska" (Farmers' Mutual-Aid Society). Attention was paid to changes of workers' interests in the sphere of the offered forms of tourism and recreation which manifest themselves in the increase of popularity of individual forms of spending spare time, e.g.: "Holidays on the Farm" (commonly called "Holidays Under a Pear-tree"). As many phisical workers of the examined cooperatives as possible should profit by the offered forms of recreation, not the workers of administration as it has happened so far. Showing the problems and obstacles in the way of effective development of the activity in the sphere of social tourism, it was noted that they should be abandoned as quickly as possible, taking into consideration the need of securing forms of recreation and tourism accepted by workers of the rural cooperatives.
