Tourist Values of Polands' Natural Environment
Relying on the familiar and universally accentuated motives for practising tourist forms of recreation as well as the psychophysical state of our society, it is possible to distinguish a number of regions on the Polish territory of various values for this activity from the optimum through high, medium, low to indiferent one. The optimum value is represented by the Carpatian Plateau, The Sudeten Plateau, and the lower parts of the Beskids (dips, valleys); the medium value - the mid-eastern part of the Pomeranian Lake District, the Holy Cross Mountains (Świętokrzyskie), Cracow - Częstochowa Upland; the low value - the western part of the Pomeranian Lake District, the Masurian Lake District, and the remaining part of the plateau belt including Trzebnickie Hills, the Silesian Plateau, the Little Poland Plateau, Roztocze Hills; the indiferent value - the belt of Central Polish Plains, the valley of the Lower Vistula, the Szczecin Plain and the Sandomierz Dip. The Tatras, the Babia Góra Mountain and the Karkonosze Range along with the Baltic littoral, which have not been classified, should be treated in a different way. The former, due to its alpine landscape, and the latter, due to its maritime character, have their peculiar influencing quality as they evince highly stimulating bioclimatic values.
